The Creative Leadership programme was a creative playground to share ideas about collaboration, leadership and creativity aimed at people with marginalised identities and particularly Black people and those from the global majority.
Early career artists, industry experts and other young people from a range of different disciplines came together in 11 sessions across 6 weeks during May-June 2022 in venues in Brighton & Hove with brilliant creatives and exchanged ideas about collaboration, leadership and creativity. The project was shaped and developed alongside Kane Husbands.
We particularly wanted to create a space where individuals from Black and other marginalised identities were leading work, rather than just participating in it. Participants worked with a group of incredible Black artists and considered how they could apply what they’ve learnt into their own practice.
To be eligible for this programme you had to be be 16-25 years old, based in Sussex and have an identity that is protected by the Equality Act 2010.
